Shrek the Musical was the 2023 Illinois High School Theater Festival All-State production. It was a very unique and educational experience. Coming from a significantly smaller space and an almost fully conventional system I felt a learning gap between me and the other lighting crew members. This pushed me to ask questions and try to learn as much about the intelligent lighting and boards we worked on. I learned a lot about how to program with and troubleshoot led and moving fixtures. I also learned how to create focus palettes, color palettes, and program cues in Agument3d. This experience gave me a better understanding of the design process without the guidance of a director. I was able to design three scenes: "Forever," "Story of My Life," and "Ballad of Farquad."
