On The Exhale is a very intense one-woman show about gun violence. It follows the story of a mother and professor at a local college who tragically loses her sun in a school shooting. The story follows her experiences with guns after the tragedy. Working on a one-woman show is very different than other plays I had worked on previously. This structure encouraged me to work harder to create the world of the play seeing as other characters and ensemble members were not there to do so. My largest challenge throughout this process was the lack of time. I joined the team a few days before our technical rehearsals. This experience taught me how to think on my feet, program, and design quickly, and prioritize aspects of the show. It was a ver y unique experience getting to work so closely with the small team to tell this story.
