Grease was my introduction to working with STEPS Performing Arts Center. It was a very short turnaround from my addition to the team to opening night. I had roughly a week to learn the script, develop design concepts, edit the rep plot, create color palettes and effects, program the show, and run 4 performances. Due to this quick turnaround, there is a noticeable lack of paperwork. Though I may not have been able to explore my design concepts as fully as I would have liked to, this process taught me to trust my instincts. It was also great practice for communicating design ideas between multiple directors, as all this communication had to be done during the tech process.
